TENGRY (tengre)  - a god of the sky among the Turks and Mongols.

Annual report:
    Main interests of the partnership:
  • developing ecological tourism in the Southern Urals;
  • ecological education;
  • preserving natural and cultural heritage;
  • introducing ecologically safe and resource saving technologies;
  • supporting social projects of non-profit organizations in Bashkortostan.
    Main programs:
  • Ecological Tourism in the Southern Urals
  • Children's and Youth International Exchange: students' exchange programs
  • Center of Supporting Public Initiatives. Starting from the year 1995 the Non-Profit Ecological Association "Tengry" has been very active as far as the matter of establishing the civil society in our country is concerned. Project activity in this direction has grown into an autonomous non-profit organization Center of Supporting Public Initiatives.
  • Studio of Folk and Applied Art
    The Partnership has been taking active measures to revive folk crafts and to arrange small enterprises to manufacture goods. Making whicker furniture articles is the most developed trend in here.

    The Non-Profit Ecological Association Tengry actively cooperates with various Russian and foreign non-profit organizations and with the International Social and Ecological Union, AID Environment (the Netherlands), the Ulm University (Germany), etc. in particular.

    Local projects of the Non-Profit Ecological Association Tengry have been supported by the Board of Development and Cooperation at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland and by the US Agency for International Development.
