Urals Mountain Passes

     It is possible to pass the route only on snowmobiles in winter and on horseback in summer. One can travel from the high mountains to the western foothills of the Urals through the mountain ridges and visit sparsely populated areas with no roads and enjoy the magificent panorama over mountain tops.

Programme of the snowmobile tour "Urals mountain passes":

Return schedule makes it possible to pass the route in opposite direction. 

Meeting: at 10 a.m., local time (Moscow time +2 hours), on arrival day. Place of the group meeting: Trade Business Complex "Gostiny Dvor", marten sculpture in front of the main entrance (Ufa, Verhnetorgovaya square, 1).

Departure: transfer to Ufa (TDK Gostiny Dvor) is organized on the day of departure (by 09.00 p.m).

Accommodation:

1) Tengri tourist center in Kaga settlement: At your disposal are: a spacious wooden building, two-storied rooms with beds for 8-15 persons, a dining-room. Every tourist is offered a sleeping place - orthopedic mattress with bedclothes. In the building there is stove heating, electricity, dry closet. Russian banya (a bath house) and public conveniences are in the courtyard. There is also a rest-room with TV and video equipment, table tennis, equipment renting centre, a snowtubing track with a tow and a skating-rink on the territory of the center.

2) Snowmobile part of the tour: Izbas (wooden country houses) with stove heating in taiga hamlets and villages, (a common room for a group of 10-15 people). Night stay on plank beds in sleeping bags. A toilet booth is in the courtyard.    

3) Accommodating in Tabyn tourist center:

The house has two rooms for accommodating 4-8 persons, and a dining room. In the building: stove heating, electricity, dry closet, washbasins (washstands); in the yard- public conveniences and Russian banya (bath-house).

Catering: according to the programme. Cooks prepare meals in the tourist center. Tourists take part in cooking during the active part of the tour.

Snacks during the snowmobile trip: sandwiches, hot food in thermoses, tea.

Provided equipment: personal - sleeping-bags, tableware, thermoses; special - Polaris Widetrack snowmobiles, complete outfit (helmet, helmet liner, snowmobile suit, boots, and gloves). Also possible (for extra payment): rent of valenki (felt boots), rucksacks.

Guides and instructors: Two guides-instructors accompany each group (up to 15 people).

Length of snowmobile passages: 240 km. Bus passages length: 500 km.

The price includes: catering (snacks during the active parts of the tour) and accommodation according to the programme, rent of snowmobiles and equipment, fuels and lubricants, guides’ and instructors’ services, excursions and banya according to the programme, transport support during the tour, insurance for 50000 RUB, transfer according to the programme.

The indicated price for each starting date - is specified for every tourist in case there are two persons per snowmobile.
In case a tourist wants to ride a separate snowmobile (one person per snowmobile), the price increases by 11300 RUB.
Two persons can ride a snowmobile only in case their total weight doesn’t exceed 150-170 kg. In case one participant weighs 120 kg and more, it’s only possible to take part in the tour as one person on a snowmobile.

Age of tourists: starting from 18 years old; from 14 years old only with parents (without the right to drive a snowmobile).

List of recommended personal equipment:

rucksack/bag, personal care items, warm cap (covering ears), scarf, waterproof mittens, valenki or other warm footwear, 2 pairs of woollen socks,  sweater or polo-neck sweater, comfortable and warm overcoat, warm sportswear, tracksuit trousers, pocket torch, toilet paper, personal first-aid kit.

It is necessary to have private papers and a policy of obligatory medical insurance.

Note  To drive a snowmobile it is necessary to have a certificate giving right to drive a snowmobile or at least driving license for driving a motor car. Tourists are accountable for inflicting deliberate damage on the property of the Company and for violating safety rules while driving a snowmobile!

Note   Average air temperature in the Southern Urals (on the territory of Bashkortostan) in winter amounts to  –15°С, -25°С at night, and –10°С, -20°С in the daytime. Pay attention to your physical qualification and be more careful while selecting your personal outfit, so that you could fully enjoy active rest and the beauty of the local nature. As experience has shown, valenki (felt boots) are quite necessary in winter.
